These video clips show the test flight of the first ever
wireless High Definition video on a small UAV
in history. GMS and Flying-Cam collaborated to make this
dream a reality. The Cannon XH-L1, HD camera and GMS' HDMT transmitter were used on the UAV. HDMT, "High Definition Messenger
Transmitter" is the smallest HD microwave transmitter in the world today
and its small size was essential to make this flight possible. On the ground
GMS' MAA "Messenger Antenna
Array" and the MSR,
"Messenger Smart Receiver" were used. The combination of MAA/ MSR, provided a solid video stream on the ground. This combination
can provide up to 5 miles of coverage. With the aide of 10W power amplifier on board
of larger aircraft, ranges up to 80
miles LOS can be achieved. For your viewing convenience two copies of video
are presented here. Both are compressed for download over the internet. Please download and save the 140 Mb file to view the higher
quality video. To appreciate the full quality of this video an HD-DVD will be required. GMS plans to
provide HD-DVD’, upon request, when the technology is made available in summer
of 2006.
